battery materials

Batteries for small mobile devices such as laptops, PDAs, and mobile phones, as well as hybrid and electric vehicles, require various performance characteristics such as miniaturization, weight reduction, high electromotive force, and high energy density. To achieve these performance characteristics, the adoption of lithium-ion batteries is rapidly increasing. Our company handles lithium salts and cobalt salts as raw materials for these batteries.

Lithium salts

<Product overview>

In recent years, much of the lithium produced industrially is obtained by sun-drying the brine from salt lakes, which are predominantly found in South America and other regions, to produce salts. Its uses are diverse, and it is used as a major raw material for lithium primary and secondary batteries, glass, lubricating grease, and other products.

<Application example>

Lithium primary batteries and lithium secondary batteries: By combining with various rare metals, it is used as a raw material to achieve various performance characteristics required for the latest batteries, such as light weight, high electromotive force, and high energy density.

It lowers the melting point during glass manufacturing, improving energy efficiency. It is also widely used to improve dimensional stability during cold molding.

• Lubricating grease is used as a raw material for metal soaps.
Greases using lithium soap are also known as all-purpose greases and are widely used as versatile lubricants that possess a good balance of various properties such as heat resistance, water resistance, and shear stability.
